Dario Bosa (Santa Catharina, 1959) is a Brazilian artist and a poet on canvas. He has been painting and sculpting since he was 15 years old. The quality of the composition and balance in his work is immediately noticeable, but it is the inexhaustible search for beauty that makes Bosa’s work so impressive.
Bosa is a great admirer of artists such as Van Gogh, Gustav Klimt and Antoni Tapies. These painters inspire him to this day. Despite this admiration, the search for original techniques is pre-eminently a challenge for this artist. He can spend days and nights experimenting with texture and effects. That is what this versatile artist has been doing since then with great success.
Bosa has mastered multiple styles, driven to express his creativity in various ways. He has been working on beautiful, unique pieces of art every day for more than twenty years. He is especially known for its beautiful abstract artworks, but the Brazilian artist has also a number of impressive pieces in which women play the main role. The power of color and the rhythm of the form are characteristic of the expressive work of this passionate artist.
The choice of materials and the original techniques are remarkable characteristics of the art of Dario Bosa. In the series ‘Free Rusty Spirit’ Dario transforms these techniques into speaking compositions. In this serie he processes different types of sand/ clay from various Brazilian states with different colors and properties. He also used original 19th century documents, pigments and stamps in combination with various types of paint which he applies in different layers. In his series ‘Mystic People” Dario Bosa presents compositions where people emerge from mystical scenarios. He then works mainly with the palette knife on a simple yet sophisticated way. In the works that belong to the serie ‘Urban People’ Dario is inspired by his travels through South America and Europe.
His work is shown in galleries in Brazil, England, Germany, France and the Netherlands and belongs to both private and corporate collections around the world.
