Heleen de Lange (1963, Netherlands) ‘models’ acrylic paint. Layer over layer she gives color and relief to the images she creates. She uses the palette knife with vigorous gestures in her work.
In the figurative abstract style that is so characteristic of her, she touches the viewer, whom she keeps in mind during the creative process. This is expressed in the important themes in her work: female figures and landscapes. In addition, she knows how to attract the viewers’ attention with her abstracts. And through the years she excelled with paintings full of stylized flowers.
Heleen acquires her skills and insights in a continuous process of exploration that she has fully mastered as an autodidact. She regularly makes commissioned work.
