Lincy Bakker (Herveld, 1979) grew up among the paintings and the smell of oil paint. Art is an inner enthusiasm that was passed on to her. Her parental home was bursting with creativity, so that art couldn’t be left out of her life. Emotion is the theme that comes back in all works. Her abstract, figurative and modern paintings are characterized by the clear structures in the underlay and a lot of depth through the many layers. Her unique use of color plays a prominent role in her paintings.
Lincy Bakker has a strong way of painting that makes the canvas an intense experience. The admirer can draw strength from it by simply looking at it. The hard lines combined with the warm soft colors create a dynamic image. There almost seems to be an interaction between the painting and the admirer. The modern bulls all show their own value, so self-assured, untouchable. In her latest works, Lincy uses transparent epoxy resin. This gives the paintings a special ‘stained-glass’ effect. This special application makes the work very dynamic.
