Roel Hanssen Helmond, 1969) is a Dutch artist. Hanssen deepened his knowledge and love for the visual arts by studying art history in Eindhoven for four years. Characteristic in his work are the simplicity and the sobriety of the theme and the subdued use of color.
Roel sees composing the color palette as writing down the notes of a piece of music. This in the knowledge that he may never be able to match the emotion of music.
Roel’s paintings are characterized by the use of various techniques and epoxy (resin) and are simply spectacular. All works are equipped with exclusive stainless steel design frames.
By using thick layers of expoxy resin, the works get an extra dimension. The result is nothing short of spectacular but is difficult to photograph.
