Sylvia Kristel (Utrecht, 1952) is a Dutch actress and painter. Sylvia Kristel is best known for her films Emmanuelle. As a movie star, she has had a very turbulent and wild life. However, fame and wealth have not brought her closer to life happiness. As she herself said: “I was a star, now I want to be an actress.”
Her talent for painting has always been overshadowed by her film career. For herself she has always continued to develop in this area. She usually filled the breaks on the film set with drawing and painting. Her talent was later noticed by Hugo Claus. He encouraged her to continue and to showcase her work.
The works of Sylvia Kristel are characterized mainly by the emotional charge. Painting has contributed to her personal maturation and, despite the success, remains a possibility for expression and self-examination. “From the reflection of the past, we read the future.”
